Free science education via the internet works.
Both the English edition and its French translation by Benoît Clénet of the free physics textbook have been well received by girls, boys, men and women. The book is now downloaded across the world over 40 000 times a year. Since 2010, the downloads from developing countries are more numerous than those from the developed countries.
The use of the book by teaching professionals is increasing steadily. Several young men and women, in developing and in developed countries, liked the book so much that they decided to study physics at university.
